Thomas Schultz, in 2003 as Chairman of the Bellport Film Society, Thomas urged the society’s board to screen the award winning documentary “Mad Hot Ballroom.” The film attracted a record number of viewers and was attended by members of the Dancing Classroom community including Victoria Malvagno. Little did Thomas know that several years later he would be invited to participate in the Dancing Classrooms Long Island pilot program. Thomas is currently active as ” buddy dancer” and is honored to have the opportunity to demonstrate the dance steps with the teaching artists. Thomas is currently working toward an organizational management degree at St Josephs College and holds an associate degree in liberal arts. He has owned and operated several businesses including a Parisian style coffee shop in Bellport Village. Thomas considers himself to be a social entrepreneur, thereby, attempts to place the needs and desires of the community ahead of corporate profit.
