DANCING CLASSROOMS ON TOUR ASSEMBLY

Board our imaginary jet and travel through the Western Hemisphere to discover the history and styles of various ballroom dances such as the merengue, tango, and swing. Through storytelling, demonstration, and audience participation students will explore body language, self-expression, moods and rhythms of music and choreography. Each dance introduced will be demonstrated by students from Long Island schools who have completed a Dancing Classrooms residency. This assembly program culminates in a medley of dances performed by professional dancers.
