A role as Communications & Contracts Manager at DCLI might be the perfect fit for you!

Our Communications & Contracts Manager works collaboratively with our Program Manager and Administrative Support Personnel to execute the following:

  • Communications with our customers, supporters, donors, and grantmakers
  • Letters of agreement with our program service customers, vendors and outside consultants.

 

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Creating newsletter content, social media content, special event announcements, and press releases
  • Creating narrative for our annual fundraising campaign, event fundraisers, and grant applications
  • Using our contracting templates to create individualized agreements with customers booking our program services and for vendors and consultants supplying goods and services

The hours for this position can vary and are part-time (10 hours per week +/-) and to start pay will be hourly commensurate with experience. Please note that this position works from your home office as CDC/DCLI’s administrators all work virtually.

 

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 3 years communications/marketing experience, preferably arts, culture and/or education sector
  • Exceptional verbal/interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective writing skills; detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated and hyper-organized with the ability to manage responsibilities independently while working as a team with a small, tight-knit staff
  • Clarity, sound judgment, professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to have difficult conversations with customers or staff members, when necessary.
  • Comfortable working both with and without supervision.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • An analytical mind and ability to think creatively and critically
  • Familiar with MailChimp, Google Chrome, Google docs and sheets, MS Word, Excel
  • Proven knowledge of communications and marketing ethics and best practices
  • Proficient public speaking abilities are an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and the ability to drive to locations in Nassau and Suffolk County (for evening competitions).
